This seminar will assist the consumer lender in correctly analyzing the borrower's "personal cash flow" generated from their personal income, business income, and/or investment activities.

The analysis will include the 1040 tax form and Schedule A (itemized deductions), Schedule B (interest & dividends), Schedule C (business income from a sole proprietor or single-member LLC), Schedule D (capital gains/losses), Schedule E (rental real estate), and Schedule F (farm income).

The session will also include how to properly determine the borrower’s "personal cash flow" derived from the 1040 tax return, including the various schedules, and the K-1 form (from a multi-member LLC and/or S corporation).

The seminar concepts will be summarized through two case studies. Additionally, the session will conclude with a review of the recent changes in the tax code (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) and how they can impact the consumer borrower.

Objectives:

  • Review the 1040 tax form and Schedule A, B, C, D, E, and F
