The Covid-19 emergency revealed some of the issues and confusion with requiring inked signatures on documents and the ACH Network has responded by updating the rules for Written Statements of Unauthorized Debits. Effective September 17, 2021, the Nacha Operating Rules will clarify and make explicit that an RDFI may obtain a consumer’s Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit electronically or orally.
